In a list of Registered Voters in the Town of Bunnell, Dec 1, 1915, Charles Harris is listed as Carpenter age 50. At one time Charles Harris was City Collector and Marshal of Bunnell, which position he resigned to assume management of Bunnell Light and Ice Plant.

Charles Harris was known as "Daddy Harris," which nickname he could have acquired because of his long white beard. It was a saying in Bunnell if the lights went out "that Daddy Harris got his beard caught in the plant." Mr. and Mrs. Harris were active in the Bunnell Methodist Church and he at one time served as secretary of the Sunday School.
